Advantages and Disadvantages of Reversible Bathroom Rugs

The most noticeable advantage is that the top side and the bottom side of the rug are identical. Therefore the rug can be flipped over and presumably last twice as long as a one-sided rug. Another advantage is that the manufacturing cost is lower, making it a good fit to hotels who seek to lower their expenses on bath mats. It is easier to match the color of the mat to the color of the towels and in essence a reversible cotton rug looks very much like a towel.
The disadvantage lies in the very limited colors to choose from and the fact that reversible bathroom rugs usually don’t have patterns; the bathroom décor options are very limited indeed. Another disadvantage is that you usually won’t find reversible bathroom rug sets

What to watch for?

Look for a thick, soft, absorbent, dries quickly and a high quality reversible rug that is made either from 100% cotton or a blend of cotton and bamboo rayon; rayon is a textile fiber made from regenerated cellulose (viscous). The thicker the rug the more water it can soaks in but you need to see whether you have enough clearance under the bathroom door. Make sure the reversible bath mat is machine washable and can be dried in a drier and that it will stand many washing/drying cycles; adhere to the washing and drying recommendations of the manufacturer.
